Lavender Mini Sessions at Pleasant Valley Lavender

I’ve always loved the calming scent of lavender and since I started my photography business I was on the search for a lavender farm that would provide a gorgeous and serene setting for my clients.

I was super happy to find Pleasant Valley Lavender in Morganville.

One of the first things that struck me about the property is that it is tucked away and feels like an escape from the real world. It is an intimate and peaceful location and is a very different experience from the larger flower farms in the area.

Some of the wonderful, unique things to note about this farm:

  • The owners live right on property and are very knowledgeable and helpful. You are able to pick your own lavender and they will instruct you on how to do so.

  • Right onsite is an adorable shop that sells homemade lavender products and baked goods. I purchased some delicious lavender scones which I enjoyed while sitting on a blanket out in the fields.

  • The farm is free. No separate entry fee required.

  • They allow you to bring your own food to enjoy a picnic in the lavender fields.

  • They allow dogs. Dogs must be on a leash and remember to clean up after your pet.

I always encourage families to make the most out of their time at our mini session locations. You’ve already done the hard part of getting everyone dressed and out the door for photos. Especially if you don’t live around the corner, you might as well stay awhile and enjoy the location either before or after our session.

The lavender does attract many butterflies and bees. The bees are the large fuzzy ones and will not harm you if you don’t bother them. We did not have any problems with the bees during our mini sessions. Frankly, most of the kids did not even notice them during our session.
